Privacy Policy
The short version
- There is no NutrUp account. We do not run a server that holds your diary.
- Your meals, symptoms, photos and results are stored on your iPhone.
- Photos are read on your iPhone, or by Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which keeps nothing.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell your data.
- If you subscribe, Apple handles payment and RevenueCat confirms your subscription using an anonymous ID.
This policy explains how the NutrUp app ("NutrUp", "we", "us"), made by Tig Tech LLC, handles information. It covers the iPhone app and this website.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you log in NutrUp is stored on your iPhone in the app's own storage: meals and their ingredients, the photos you take or pick, symptoms and stool records, the foods you are avoiding or trying again, your corrections, and your results. We cannot see any of it. Deleting the app deletes it.
Photos and food recognition
When you add a photo, NutrUp suggests the foods on the plate using Apple's on-device model. Where your iPhone supports it, a photo may instead be read by Apple's Private Cloud Compute. Apple designed Private Cloud Compute so that your request is used only to answer it, is not stored, and cannot be accessed by Apple or by us. The same applies to food names you type. The photo itself is saved only on your iPhone.
What you choose to share
NutrUp can create a CSV export of your diary, a one-page report for a clinician, and an image of a result. These leave your iPhone only when you send them yourself through the share sheet, to the person or app you choose. We never receive them.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your name, Apple Account, or payment details. To know whether your subscription is active, NutrUp uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID created on your device and the purchase records Apple provides for it, and uses them only to confirm your subscription. RevenueCat's own policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising or tracking identifiers.
- No analytics or crash reporting tools in the app.
- No selling or renting of any information.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
If you choose to share crash reports with developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may pass them to us. They contain technical details about the crash, not your diary.
Health information
Your diary is about your health, which is why it stays on your iPhone. NutrUp does not read from or write to Apple Health. NutrUp is a food and symptom diary; it is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.
This website
This website has no cookies, no analytics and no forms. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Children
NutrUp is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Because NutrUp keeps the diary on the device, we hold no information about any user.
Your choices and rights
You control your data on your iPhone: edit or delete any entry in the app, export it at any time, or delete the app to remove it all. Because we do not hold your diary, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. To manage or cancel a subscription, use your Apple Account settings. If you have a question or a request under the law where you live, email us and we will respond.
Changes
If NutrUp starts handling information differently, we will update this page and its effective date before the change, and describe significant changes in the app.
